It’s been an exceptionally difficult winter for pitches, and we really appreciate the patience shown by players and parents over the past few months.
Since Christmas, despite storm disruption, record rainfall and local flooding, 77 of our 103 scheduled home games have gone ahead - meaning 75% of our home fixtures were played in very challenging conditions. A significant amount of planning and coordination has gone into making that possible whenever it was safe to play.
We know some teams have been more affected than others, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed. Under difficult circumstances, every effort has been made to ensure fairness across all teams, male and female, and across all age groups, and fixtures will continue to be kept under regular review.
Getting our players out on the pitch as often as possible through a winter like this is something the whole club can take pride in.
